Bio
Karen Margallo is the Director for Child & Family Community Integrated Care at McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) and Site Administrator for the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre. Her role focuses on working in partnership at the local, regional and provincial levels to design and implement programs and services to meet the growing needs across the child development and healthcare systems. This includes meaningful engagement with our children, youth, families and communities in the provision of the highest quality, equitable, innovative and integrated health care. She has over twenty years of experience in both clinical and leadership roles. She is a strong advocate for quality patient and family driven care, clinical education, quality improvement, research, and leadership development.

- Clinical:
- Extensive Needs Service, three-year Proof of Concept (2022-25) to develop and implement the ENS program providing wrap-around care for children, youth and families with multiple mental, physical, behavioural and social health complexities, including the broad spectrum of neurodevelopmental needs.
- “Best Care for All… Addressing the needs of all children and youth with Autism” submission to MCCSS (2019), presenting an evidence-based, family-driven proposal to inform the creation of a new sustainable, needs-based program for Autistic children and youth.
