Bio
Karen Joseph is a MacART trainee and PhD student in Kinesiology at McMaster University, supervised by Dr. Jennifer Heisz. Her research examines how lifestyle factors, such as nutrition, sleep, and physical activity, intersect with psychological functioning in aging Autistic adults. Through this work, Karen aims to advance understanding of how these factors shape well-being and support healthy aging in this under-studied population.

- Karen’s autism research uses a mixed-methods approach that focuses on three projects: a scoping review of lifestyle behaviours in Autistic adults, a retrospective cohort analysis using data from the Aging and Autism Study, and qualitative interviews exploring their lived experiences.
